GAIA was formed and incorporated in Cape Town, South Africa, in 2012, for the purpose of facilitating the investment of long-term capital in infrastructure projects in Southern Africa, with an initial focus on the renewable energy independent power producer procurement programme.

In response to the market need, GAIA developed an internal resource base of 12 professionals which includes engineers, attorneys, actuaries and corporate financiers tasked with initiating, gauging and concluding the investment transaction.

GAIA prides itself on being a complete asset manager by deploying its engineering expertise to assist and advise at board and management level with regards to project management, operations and maintenance whilst utilising its financial expertise and funding network to develop the most efficient funding and operational solutions to the benefit of all stakeholders in the projects it is involved.

In only a short period of time GAIA has been able to leverage its unique technical and corporate finance expertise to bring infrastructure as a new asset class to the institutional and retail investor market and believes it is uniquely positioned to continue to do so as the demand for infrastructure projects and investors exposure to the asset class increases
